Flood Insurance

The definition of a flood is “an overflowing of a large amount of water beyond its normal confines, especially over what is normally dry land”.

Flood peril is a standard exclusion in all standard property policies. If you live in a flood zone you would need to purchase a separate flood policy in order to have coverage for your home or your commercial buildings and contents* for damage caused by flood waters. Contrary to a “popular myth” you do not have to be located in a flood zone to purchase flood insurance. If you are not in a flood zone but live in a “participating community,” which includes almost every town near Madison and Hanover Indiana, you are eligible for a preferred risk flood policy! If you live in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio or the Madison and Hanover Indiana area and want to hear more about flood coverage please contact one of our knowledgeable agents.
